The CPP designation is the Gold Standard for the Industry. It helps ensure that the provider is capable of operating at peak efficiency and is offering cutting edge services in and environmentally friendly and safe manner. One of the goals of the Paddlesports Industry (PIA) in creating the CPP was to have a certification program that was perceived as credible by all industry stakeholders. To ensure this the recipient must attend two years of the National School for Paddlesports Business. The National School has six tracks concentrating on core competency:
1) Finance and Accounting
2) Customer Relations
3) Advertising and Marketing
4) Retail Sales
5) Operations and Personnel Management
6) Legal Issues and Risk Management.
After each year they must successfully pass a comprehensive examination. Once this component is accomplished the recipient must matriculate by compiling the required points based on experience. By attaining this certification the recipient has demonstrated his proficiency and you can be assured you are out on the water with Paddlesports Professional.
The Paddlesports Industry Association (PIA) is the premier trade association promoting paddlesports.
